About Douw Kruger – Motivational Speaker | Team Building Facilitator
Douw has been a Professional speaker and trainer since 1997 and has shared his unique team building programs internationally with world class companies like Bayer, Exxaro Coal, Johnson&Johnson, Peermont Global Hotels, Total Fuels, and much more.
Before that he served in an elite unit of the South African Defence Force for seven years, specialising in Bush Survival Training. It was here that he gained valuable experience working with highly skilled individuals like fighter- and helicopter pilots as well as paratroopers, teaching them survival skills and strategies under stressful and life-threatening conditions.
It is due to his passion and deep interest in nature that he has summitted Mount Kilimanjaro – the roof of Africa and undertaken expeditions to some of the most awe-inspiring places on earth, such as the Iguassu Waterfalls and Amazon Jungle in Brazil, the Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens in Mauritius, the active volcanic crater, Karthala, on Grande Comore, the mysterious Brandberg in Namibia and the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA. He has shared this experience and passion with many Companies in his unique and distinctive team building programs since 1997.
As a Professional Guide, he has gained invaluable experience across Africa since 1985. He has guided and undertaken numerous safaris in South Africa, Namibia, the Zambesi Valley in Zimbabwe, Luangwa Valley in Zambia and the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania. He has steered many people from different cultures and nationalities towards a closer relationship with nature and a deeper understanding of themselves.
Douw is also a trained Farrier and Veterinary Orderly. He regularly writes articles for wildlife magazines and serves as a Consultant Wildlife Expert for natural history/survival television productions.
Douw has a strong belief that by discovering the uniqueness of other species we might discover our own potential and uniqueness. We will only find the answers to many of our questions if we return to nature.
